Press Release

On January 13, 2016 at approximately 8:15 pm, Foley Police Department responded to a residence in Ashford Park Subdivision for a Home Invasion and Robbery.  Two men entered the residence with guns with the intention of robbing the occupants of cash.  The suspects left shortly after entering the house without taking any property.

While actively searching for the suspects, approximately 1 hour later, Foley Police Department received a call to respond to a Robbery in the Walgreen's Parking Lot.  The same suspects approached a woman in the parking lot and after talking with her, stole her wallet and ran from the scene.  While fleeing the scene the suspects brandished a gun to a witness.  Foley Police Department was able to make contact with Corey Jones, 18 yoa of Gulf Shores, near the intersection of Highway 98 and South Stuart Street.  Our K-9 officer apprehended Jones who was still physically trying to get away and during that encounter he was bitten by the k-9 and was then brought under control and taken into custody.  Foley Police Department activated the Fugitive Tracking Team to locate the other suspect,Darius Prim 18 yoa of Foley, he was located in Gulf Shores and arrested.

During the investigation Foley police recovered a 22 rifle, one 22 pistol, and 2 realistic replica machine guns, and one realistic replica pistol with silencer.  We have also recovered the wallet stolen from the victim at Walgreens.

It has been determined these two subjects were on a "crime spree" to obtain money to flee to Texas.  Both Jones and Prim were on bond for separate robbery charges.  Jones was wearing an ankle monitor as part of his bond and had cut it off earlier in the day.

This case is still under investigation to include other suspects.

Both were charged with Robbery 1st for the Home Invasion in Ashford Park Subdivision and Robbery 2nd and Menacing for the Robbery in the Walgreen's parking lot.
